Botusemen Gold is a high fertility equine semen extender diluent that is suitable for all stallions, especially for those with suspected premature sperm capacitation. Can be used with fresh or cooled equine semen. Botusemen Gold is based on casein and cholesterol. Casein is a protein that interacts with calcium ions and prevents detrimental effects of seminal plasma semen by binding to HSP proteins, reducing lipid loss from the plasma membrane. Milk casein phosphoproteins protects sperm cells from the action of seminal plasma proteins (HSP-1, HSP-2) and Ca++ ions, prolonging spermatic longevity favoring semen transport. Reports show that seminal samples diluted in casein presents a higher rate of binding to the oocyte.

The exclusive combination of casein and cholesterol in Botu Gold extender enhances the stability of the sperm membrane, preserving motility and viability during storage and cooling. Botusemen Gold increases the longevity and fertility rates of stallions' semen.

The temperature of 5° C or 15° C can be used for semen cooled transport as well as for pre-freezing centrifugation. Use dilutions of 50 million/ml for cooled transport, respecting the minimum of 2 parts of extender to 1 part of semen. In cases of samples requiring centrifugation before cooled transport should be respected the resuspension of spermatozoa to 100 million/ml. DO NOT exceed the appropriate concentrations of cholesterol. BotuSemen Gold presented liquid translucent which facilitates visualization for cushion centrifugation.

Storage: After mixing the contents of the sachet with sterile water, store it at 2 to 8°C (35.6 to 46.4°F) for up to 3 days.

How to Prepare Botusemen Gold: Add the entire envelope contents to the bottle containing 100 mL of distilled water. Shake well. Place the bottle in a water bath at 37°C for 30 minutes and shake again until complete homogenization. After semen dilution, wait 15 minutes to allow the active ingredients to interact with the sperm membrane.

Important: In cases where centrifugation before the cooling process is necessary, resuspend the sperm pellet at a final concentration of 100 million total sperm per mL.
