STREPVAX® II is an injectable strangles vaccine for horses. It has been shown to be effective for the vaccination of healthy horses against Streptococcus equine infection (strangles). Strangles in horses is a respiratory bacterial infection caused by Streptococcus equi. Strangles gets its name from its characteristic symptom of enlarged lymph nodes surrounding the upper airways, which can cause horses to suffocate. Easy to use, no reconstitution needed.

This equine strangles vaccine promotes phagocyte destruction of virulent S equi. Reduced risk of sensitization. This equine vaccine is well tolerated by most horses and is available as a convenient-to-use prefilled syringe or as 10 dose bottle. Contains a purified M-protein antigen extracted through an exclusive process. Sensitizing elements of whole cell bacterins are virtually excluded in the extraction process.

This equine strangles vaccine is effective for the vaccination of healthy horses of all ages.

Cautions: Keep out of reach of children and animals. For use in animals only. Do not mix with other products. Use entire contents when first opened. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. In case of anaphylactoid reaction, administer epinephrine. In case of human exposure, contact a physician.Storage: Store 2 to 8 °C. (35 to 46°F). Store out of direct sunlight. Do not freeze.

Dosage and Administration: Shake bottle well. Using aseptic technique, inject 1 mL intramuscularly, preferably in the hindquarters. Use a separate sterile needle for each injection. For primary vaccination, give 3 doses at intervals of 3 weeks.
