Equine Embryo Transfer Equipment

Finding the right embryo transfer sheaths is crucial in a successful equine or bovine insemination. IMV Technologies' embryo sheath is ideal for transferring small embryos under seven days old into the uterus for implantation. It is manufactured with a stainless steel side-port tip that facilitates easier deposition. The tube itself is a blue, transparent plastic that easily curves and maneuvers into the cervix for highly precise delivery.

This embryo sheath is manufactured by IMV Technologies in two sizes - .25 cc and .5 cc. Each one is sterilized prior to shipment and protected with a sanitary sheath during transportation and storage. When ready for use:

  1. Recover the inseminated embryo from the donor mare.
  2. Remove the sanitary sheath while wearing gloves to preserve sterility.
  3. Insert the embryo into the transfer sheath and attach it to the mare's catheter.
  4. Ensure the embryo has reached the uterus before removing the ET sheath and catheter.
  5. Dispose of the medical waste and wait 7-10 days to determine transfer success.
