Focus Cat Vax 3® + FeLV is a feline vaccine designed for cats and kittens and administered by subcutaneous injection. The vaccine contains antigens for feline leukemia, rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia diseases that are common and widespread among cats.
1. Open the syringe by twisting or tapping the cap against a hard surface to break the heat weld.
2. Aseptically rehydrate the vaccine cake with 1 mL of the supplied FeLV sterile diluent.
3. Shake well. Withdraw the entire contents into the syringe.
4. Administer one 1 mL dose subcutaneously using aseptic technique.
5. Lift the loose skin behind the neck or behind the right hind leg and insert the needle.
6. Before injecting, pull back slightly on the syringe plunger. If blood enters the syringe freely, select another injection site.
7. Inject the entire contents of the syringe. Do not inject directly into a blood vessel.
8. Healthy cats should receive two doses 3–4 weeks apart. If the animal is less than 16 weeks of age, the final dose should be administered no earlier than 16 weeks of age.
Maternal antibodies may interfere with the development of active immunity, and additional boosters may be required in young animals. Consult a veterinarian for guidance on revaccination frequency and annual booster vaccinations.
