What is TruCan™ DAPPi Used For?
TruCan™ DAPPi, which was previously called Duramune Max 5, is designed to keep both puppies and dogs healthy. This 5-way dog vaccine offers protection against several diseases caused by adenovirus type 1 (hepatitis), adenovirus type 2 (respiratory disease), parainfluenza, canine distemper and parvovirus.
All viruses within the vaccine are modified live versions of the virus. It can be given to any healthy dog that's over 6 weeks of age, so dogs who are pregnant, sick or have parasites should not receive this 5 in 1 puppy vaccine.
How Often Do You Give TruCan™ DAPPi?
Once puppies receive their first dose, the same dosage will need to be repeated every 2 to 3 weeks until they are 12 weeks old because maternal antibodies will affect the puppies' ability to form active immunity. Following that, it's recommended to vaccinate dogs annually with a single dose.
Adult dogs, or puppies over 12 weeks old, require one initial dose of TruCan™ DAPPi and then a second dose 2 to 3 weeks later.
Duramune Max 5 vaccine, which is made in the United States, contains 25 1 ml doses. This five way dog vaccine requires mixing prior to use. It is used subcutaneously, and needles and syringes must be purchased separately.

DAPPi Vaccine Instructions
Directions for Use: Aseptically rehydrate TruCan DAPPi with diluent supplied. Administer one 1 ml dose subcutaneously. A recommended vaccination schedule should start at or about 6 weeks of age. The presence of maternal antibody is known to interfere with the development of active immunity. Puppies should be revaccinated every two to three weeks until twelve weeks of age. All dogs over twelve weeks of age should initially receive one dose of TruCan DAPPi and a second dose 2 to 3 weeks later. Annual revaccination with one dose is recommended.
The Infovax-ID® System provides a simple and effective method of recording pertinent information on the vaccines administered to animals in a veterinary practice.
For vaccines requiring reconstitution, remove label from both vials and affix both labels to the animal's medical chart. 1.) Grasp the lower right-hand corner of the tab at the arrow marked "Peel Here" between your thumb and forefinger. 2.) Pull steadily at a slight upward angle until the top portion of the label is separated from the vial. 3.) Place the label on the animal's medical chart. Press down on the label to ensure adhesion.
