Stand your pet on a mat or groom outdoors.
Ensure you and your pet are comfortable and relaxed before starting.
Hold the dog's paw firmly and look carefully at how much you can cut from each nail. Avoid cutting the quick (blood vessel).
If nails are light colored you can see the quick, which is pink in color. Cut the tapered curved end carefully with the blade moving upwards.
Remember to also cut the dewclaw.
